Close to 150 SnoBears descended on Lake Winnipeg this past week.
It was part of the Annual SnoBear Migration event held out of the Lakeview Hotel in Gimli. Participants in the event included Bob and Wayne Izumi, as well as Kevin Stobbe and Don Lamont from Hooked.
The event also included a mini tournament on the ice in support of youth fishing. Over the course of the three days of the Migration there were a lot of trophy walleye caught. Bob Izumi landed one of the larger fish at almost 30 inches, while SnoBear president Ron Balzer caught one just under Master Angler length. These amazing machines have no problem accessing any section of the lake and their popularity is jumping.
After the tournament we had a hot lunch provided by Danny’s Whole Hog. Then we ventured out across Lake Winnipeg, making tracks in the snow and accessing areas 4-wheeled vehicles could not. After a successful day fishing with Sheldon Churchill from Warner Industries, a SnoBear dealer, we headed back for a banquet hosted by SnoBear president Ron Balzer.
Good times with old and new friends, and fun on the ice in the ultimate snow machine!
