Our guest today has been writing and talking about fishing, hunting and outdoor pursuits for over three decades. He is the senior editor of Ontario Out of Doors magazine and has been with the publication for 29 years. Gord Ellis is also a long-time outdoor columnist and reporter for CBC radio in Thunder Bay.
He has written for a wide variety of publications ranging from The Toronto Star to the Financial Post. He has won over 20 writing awards through the Outdoor Writers of Canada. In 2018, Gord was inducted into the Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame, in Hayward, Wis., for his varied career in outdoors media, conservation and the promotion of angling.
Gord has also been fishing and guiding in the Nipigon, Ontario region for about four decades and is considered one of the leading advocates on the world-famous brook trout of the area. He has appeared on a wide variety of outdoor shows over the years, including Lund Ultimate Fishing, Midwest Outdoors, the New Fly Fisher and the Complete Angler.
