Bass anglers from across North America converged on Rainy Lake last week for the 16th annual Fort Frances Canadian Bass Championship.

Lake of the Woods is without a doubt, one of the most fantastic fisheries in North America.

Some of the most fantastic fishing of the year can happen in the last few weeks of the ice fishing season.

This weekend I had some friends of mine from MN come out to do some great Lake of the Woods ice fishing… and what a weekend we had!

So what is the hottest bite on the ice right now? I’d have to give the nod to Lake of the Woods walleyes.

With the ice fishing season in full swing ice anglers are out and about in search of fish in their favourite destinations. Like a lot of other anglers, I love catching a few fish for the frying pan but the thought of catching trophy fish is what really makes my heart tick.
